I hope everything is good. As you know, our world is in a bad state because of Corona Virus. So, keep your body's immune system always strong. Don't forget to wash your hands after you were finished your activity from outside the house and make social distancing. I just remind you to make our earth healthy again.

First of all, I would like to say thanks for coming back to my blog and become my loyal blogger.
Now I want to share with you my experience of hands shaking in my culture, exactly is TOBANESE. This is related to learning cross-cultural understanding.
The situation where a person introduces him/her self to another person, we called Introduction. Every culture has each how to introduces her/him self through hand shack, right.
In this blog, we talk about Tobanese's handshaking.
Tobanese is one of the Batak ethnic in Indonesia with the greeting "HORAS (Hubungan Oleh Roh kudus Akan Selamat)".
"HORAS" is the gift of the holy spirit be with me and you.
Tobanese says "HORAS" with handshaking to family, close friends, and people who are in the village of Toba Batak.
If Toba's people meet with new people or new friends, usually they didn't say "HORAS", because it feels strange to say that. So we just make handshaking with eye contact.
In general, the Tobanese people make strong handshaking with eye contact.




You have to know guys,
Toba's people who are usually born in urban areas, rarely say horas. But they only shake hands with eye contact. it feels strange if fellow urban people say "Horas" while shaking hands. Even if some people say "HORAS" while shaking hands in the city, then they come from the Toba Batak countryside, who is wandering in the city.
